Bon Iver Rocks My World - Category: Studio Soundtrack
It seems appropriate that while I have been making paintings about Milwaukee I have been listening to Wisconsin native Justin Vernon on NPR's First Listen this past week. I am digging his references to Milwaukee in a couple of his songs. Bon Iver's new CD is amazing and since he is on SPIN and Rolling Stone, and pretty much everywhere these days I don't think I need to explain more. Here he is on the late show with Jimmy Fallon covering Bonnie Rait's "I Can't Make You Love Me."
The cover art is nothing short of amazing either. Check out Gregory Euclide's collages if you get the chance.
Cafe Carpe - Category: Studio Soundtrack

I got to have a beer with him and Bill a couple of weeks ago and thought they were swell guys. Cafe Carpe has a great reputation for featuring emerging and established musicians. I couldn't find a video of the Folkadots but here is Peter, Jeffery Foucault, Barry Rothman, and David "Goody" Goodrich playing at Carpe:
